Scientific manuscripts, medical reports and more

Translation and editing of scientific manuscripts

Contrary to the oft-repeated claim, data do not speak for themselves. All the hard work put into carrying out a study means nothing if the results are not clearly presented and interpreted. What is more, the scientific community can only benefit from these results if they are published. My goal when translating and editing manuscripts is to produce a clear and concise text that complies with all journal-specific requirements. This can mean correcting gaps in logic or inconsistencies, after discussing them with the author; reducing the word count; and formatting tables or figures.

I typically charge 0.10 €/source word for these jobs.

I also edit manuscripts written in English for between 0.05 € and 0.08 €/source word, depending on the extent of editing required.

Translation of medical reports

This is the first kind of medical text I worked on after going freelance in 2015, and since then I have built up an extensive bilingual glossary of commonly used terms, abbreviations and initialisms.

For these jobs I charge 25 €/hour.

Translation of general texts (ES/FR > EN)

I occasionally translate more general texts, from Spanish or French to English, charging from 0.07 €/word.
